Chrysler CorporationThe New Yorker name went on quite a few generations of Chrysler-built rear-wheel-drive land yachts from 1940 through 1982, then spent a while on both rear- and front-wheel-drive platforms (as the New Yorker Fifth Avenue and the regular New Yorker). For the 1988 through 1993 model years, the New Yorker was a member of the extended K-Car family, sibling to the Dodge Dynasty and Chrysler Imperial. Here’s a magazine advertisement for that car touting its four-speed automatic transmission and big warranty.
