At the 1929 Paris Motor Show, Lancia presented the Dilambda as the successor to the Lambda. The new model returned to a body-on-frame approach, unlike its predecessor’s unibody construction. The Dilambda was manufactured in three series, with the first two being available as either the Model 227 with a 3,475mm wheelbase or the Model 229 with a wheelbase of 3,290mm.

This specific 1930 Lancia Dilambda is a first-series Model 227. It was reportedly ordered by Sir Douglas Montgomery Bernard Hall, a second baronet from England, upon his return from a trip to Italy in the 1920s. Carlton Carriage Co. of London provided the chassis with one-of-a-kind two-door cabriolet coachwork at the baronet’s request. The car was named “Blue Shadow” by the baronet and was kept by him for five years.
