About 13 vehicles belonging to the police were destroyed in a fire that happened at the Kedah police contingent headquarters workshop building on the morning of 12-September-2022.
State police chief Hassan Ahmad told Free Malaysia Today (FMT) that no casualties or injuries were reported as the incident happened at 4.45 am.
Other than the 13 police vehicles including several police cars and high-powered motorcycles, the fire also destroyed the transport administration office, workshop, and equipment housed in the workshop.
The Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) has yet to determine to cause of the fire and the cost of the losses has also yet to be revealed.
According to Kedah JBPM director Sayani Saidon, the department received an emergency call at about 4.53 am.
Twenty personnel from the Jalan Raja Fire and Rescue station assisted by Jalan Kundur and Seberang Nyonya Volunteer Fire Brigade units were deployed to the scene.
