In today’s market, there is an SUV for everyone, and they come in all different shapes and sizes. If you are in the market for an SUV and want to know which ones will arrive in the upcoming months, then you have stumbled across the right place. Here is the list of all the SUVs that will be launching soon in the country.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny – June
The first and foremost SUV, which has been long anticipated, is the Maruti Suzuki’s lifestyle off-roader, Jimny. The five-door Jimny will be officially launched next month in June and will take on rivals like the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha. The Jimny is Maruti Suzuki’s newest ladder-on-frame SUV, which will come equipped with Suzuki’s AllGrip four-wheel-drive system as a standard feature, and it will be offered in two variants: Zeta and Alpha. It will be powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally-aspirated K15B petrol engine, producing a maximum power output of 105 PS and a maximum torque output of 138 Nm. The engine comes with two transmission choices: a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic.
Honda Elevate – June
Next up on the list will be the newest entrant in the mid-size SUV segment, which will be the Japanese automotive giant Honda’s Elevate. This new SUV will also make its debut in June of this year and will take on segment champions such as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, along with others. The Honda Elevate is likely to be offered with a 1.5-liter petrol engine that produces 121 PS and 150 Nm of torque, which is the same engine available in the Honda City mid-size sedan. In terms of pricing, it is expected that Honda will launch this model in the Rs 12-19 lakh range.
Hyundai Exter – July
The month of July will be welcoming Hyundai’s newest and most affordable SUV, the Exter. This new micro-SUV will be rivaling Tata’s most popular micro-SUV, Punch, in the country and will be priced in the range of Rs 6-10 lakh. The Exter will be offered with a 1.2L Kappa Petrol engine, which is now E20 Fuel ready, along with a 1.2L Bi-fuel Kappa petrol with CNG as well. The company has not yet announced any power specifications for both powertrains, but it is anticipated that the petrol engine will be able to produce a maximum of 83 PS of power and 113.8 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the CNG variant will be able to generate 95.2 Nm of torque and a maximum output of 69 PS.
Kia Seltos Facelift – July
Along with the Exter, the South Korean automaker Kia’s Seltos facelift will also be arriving in the month of July. This new facelifted model will continue to challenge its cousin, Creta, and other prominent SUVs from the mid-size SUV segment. Recently, it was revealed that the upcoming model will be offered with a panoramic sunroof, which the outgoing model does not get. There will be revisions on the exterior and interior design as well. As for the powertrain side of things, the 1.5-liter petrol engine with 115 horsepower and 144 Nm, as well as the 1.5-liter turbo-diesel engine with 116 horsepower and 250 Nm, will be available. Additionally, Kia is also anticipated to reintroduce the turbo-petrol engine in the Seltos, although with 160 horsepower and 253 Nm of torque.
Citroen C3 Aircross – August

In August, the French automaker Citroen will launch its newest SUV, the C3 Aircross, which will compete in the mid-size SUV segment. The brand new C3 Aircross SUV will offer a spacious cabin due to its 4.3m length and will be available in 5-seat and 5+2-seat packages, a first for the segment. The C3 Aircross will only come with a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine, capable of producing a maximum of 110hp and 190 Nm of torque. Gearbox duties will be handled by a six-speed manual transmission.
Tata Nexon Facelift – August
Following the launch of the C3 Aircross, Tata Nexon’s facelift, the country’s most popular sub-compact SUV, will be launched in August of this year. The upcoming Nexon facelift will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai, and others to regain its position as the segment leader. The SUV will feature numerous exterior and interior design upgrades. According to reports, the updated Tata Nexon could receive a new 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, previously showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. The new engine claims a maximum power output of 125 bhp and 225 Nm, which is 5 bhp and 55 Nm more than the current engine’s performance numbers.
Hyundai Creta Facelift – September
The only SUV arriving in September will be the Creta facelift from South Korean automotive giant Hyundai Motor India. The Creta is currently the segment champion, and with the launch of the facelift, the company aims to maintain its position at the top of the mid-size SUV segment in the country. Hyundai will equip the new Creta facelift with the ADAS system already offered in the new Tucson. The Creta will most likely retain the outgoing powertrains. The SUV will feature a completely new exterior design at the front.
Tata Harrier Facelift – October

In October, Tata Motors will launch the new facelifted version of its highly popular mid-size SUV, the Harrier, in the country. The new Harrier facelift will bring a host of changes to its exterior and will also feature a revised interior. It has been reported that it will retain the existing features and be powered by the same 2.0-liter diesel engine, available with a choice of 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions, as found in the current Harrier. However, the new Turbo Petrol motor could also be offered in addition to the outgoing powertrains.
Tata Safari Facelift – October
Alongside the launch of the facelifted Harrier, the facelifted iteration of its elder sibling, Safari, will also be launched in October. The new Safari will be refined with numerous new features and enhanced ADAS, enabling it to compete with segment leader Mahindra XUV700. The forthcoming Tata Safari facelift is expected to feature the new 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine, delivering 168bhp of peak power and 280Nm of peak torque, which the company showcased at the Auto Expo in 2023. Additionally, the 2.0-liter Kyrotec diesel engine, generating 170 PS and 350 Nm, and paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, is likely to remain available with the company’s flagship SUV alongside this powerplant.
Kia Sonet Facelift – December
Last but not least, in December, Kia India is highly likely to launch the facelift of its sub-compact SUV, Sonet. Information about this SUV is currently scarce, but it is believed that it will feature a new exterior and interior design, as the current model has been on the market for a long time. Powertrain options are likely to remain unchanged. Once launched, it will compete with rivals such as the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and others.
